Frequently Asked Questions

Basic answer is no, the slightly more detailed answer is...

If you are involved in coaching other activities such as martial arts, football, etc then, as long as you have professional liability insurance, this course will be suitable for you as long as you do not teach outside your client remit.

However, you must check beforehand with any governing body / insurance and LKB Academy is not responsible or liable if you do not do this.

The course is predominantly practical in nature. We will get hands on and teach the individual techniques and adaptations, modifications and progressions.

The LKB Course Manual provides all the technical content for the courses and are provided in folders for easy reference and the LKB Academy website provides all course documentation and video tutorials online.

To pass the course we perform ongoing assessment, a multi choice exam and a demonstration of teaching techniques on two random exercises. The aim of the tests is to ensure that you reach a high level of understanding and can teach your new kettlebell skills effectively

Yes it is. It is one of the few that is recognised and accredited by REPS. However, it is specifically for members of the fitness industry, at level 3 REPS or above. You will need to provide documentation that you are an active member of the register to gain CPD. The one day course is worth 10 CPD, the two day course is worth 16 CPD.

For other people, such as martial arts coaches, strength and conditioning specialists or sports trainers this course will impart the skillset needed for kettlebell training but will not confer the status of a REPS accredited Kettlebell Instructor

We supply all kettlebells necessary for the course.

Kettlebells will also be made available for sale on the day at 20% off RRP. You can pay by card before the event or cash on the day.

If you are attending a one day public intensive then it will be beneficial to have some kettlebell experience. However, it is not a mandatory requirement and will not affect your experience of the workshop. As long as you are comfortable with weight training you will be fine!
